A component of multisensory installation Ancestral Futurism*, this piece incorporates several symbols of divine creation; the vesica piscis, the apotropaic eye, and the double rainbow serpent, all of which can be found in many ancient cosmologies around the world and are thought to originate from Africa.

The rainbow serpent is an intercultural symbol understood as the divine feminine, creation/destruction and healing (eg. Staff of Hermes in Egyptian-Greco cosmology, Aida-Weddo in Haitian voodoo, creator deity in Aboriginal Australian spiritual traditions). The vesica piscis (2 intersecting circles), sometimes known as “the seed of life” has long been understood as a portal of consciousness and a symbol of fertility, womb of the universe or cosmic vulva.
